Tagging Articles

A 'Tag' is a label given to an article that puts the article into a relevant subject category.

It is necessary to tag your articles so that they can be easily found on the WaterWiki.

How to Tag your article

1. Once you click 'Save and View' you will see a copy of your article in full

2. A message will appear at the top of the article, in red, saying that the article is 'untagged'

3. To Tag your article, go to the bottom of the article page and type in a tag chosen from our list of existing subject categories.

4. There is an auto-complete function so that as you type in the tag, WaterWiki will finish it for you.

5. If you would like to create your own Tag just type it into the box and click Save. Creating a new tag means creating a new subject category. Therefore, it is not advisable to create new tags that are too specific.

6. If you decide to create your own tag, and this new tag consists of two words, please use underscore instead of space between the two words. For example, if you want to add a new tag named "sustainable development", you should write "sustainable_development" in the tag box.

7. Do not put more than 3 tags per article.

8. If you encounter difficulties or have any questions regarding the tags and the subject categories, please contact any member of the Editorial Group.
