IWA Announces Formal Constitution of Water Safety Planning Specialist Group
The Water Safety Planning Specialist Group (WSP SG) has been formally
constituted, following elections to positions on the management
committee (Chair - José Vieira, University of Minho, Portugal;
Vice-Chair – Huw Taylor, University of Brighton, UK; and Secretary – Rui
Sancho, Águas do Algarve, Portugal). The WSP SG will aim in the
medium- to long-term to increase global WSP dissemination, particularly
with regard to small and medium systems, and will help to fill knowledge
gaps associated with their implementation and management. The group
invites all members of IWA that wish to participate in this project, or
would like further information, to contact the group at:

SAWA National Projects: Implementing the EU Flood Directive
The Strategic Alliance for Water Management Action (SAWA) is an
organisation funded by the European Regional Development Fund, through
the North Sea Interreg IVB Action Programme, to assist 7 North Sea
region countries (Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, the Flemish
Region of Belgium, the UK and Norway) in implementing the EU Flood
Directive.
SAWA have created an area on the wiki for recording the progress of their National Project research initiatives.

IWA Events on the WaterWiki
The organisers of the Water Loss UK and Water Loss Europe conferences
have been using the Events Extra section of the WaterWiki to publicise
the events and announce calls for contributions.
Water Loss UK and Water Loss Europe are the first IWA events to use Events Extra to inform delegates of conference proceedings ahead of time. Would you like to publicise your event to WaterWiki users ahead of time? Would your delegates enjoy further discussion within a dedicated event forum?

Proceedings of the 4th International Conference Metals and Related Substances in Drinking Water, METEAU

The conference was successfully accomplished with all different items on the program carried through in the best way. The main objective of the conference was to collate the understanding of the various factors which control metals and related substances in drinking water with an aim to minimize environmental impacts. Collection of 38 Case Studies Now Available on the WaterWiki
There are 38 CAPS case studies on decentralized wastewater treatment solutions from sanitation projects in Cambodia, Lao, Vietnam and Philippines cnow available on the WaterWiki. These studies were produced by CAPS for UNEP with funding by KOICA.
Case studies are grouped by geographical location – with each featured country having its own index page.
